Apollo 11 was the space mission sent by President Kennedy to land humans on the moon. Thefy landed on July 21, 1969. It took the astronauts around 2 hours to prepare to emerge in space. When they stepped on the moon, Neil Armstrong described what the surface of the moon looked like, then took a step off of the landing pad, and onto the actual moon, becoming the first man to walk on the moon. With this step came the now-famous line, "That's one small step for man; one giant step for mankind."
